New England TB Intensive Workshop

This workshop will review principles for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of latent TB infection and TB disease and address TB in special populations. The first day will focus on LTBI, including risk-based screening, testing methods, treatment options, and strategies for treatment completion. The rest of the course will build on basic concepts and explore key aspects of TB diagnostics, treatment and management. The format will include lectures and interactive case discussions.

Please note, attendees who are unable to participate in the full three-day workshop have the option to attend the one day LTBI focused stand-alone training on Tuesday June 26, 2018.

This workshop is designed for physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals who are involved in the diagnosis and management of TB patients. Individuals who work in the following settings would benefit from attending this workshop:

• TB Programs
• Health Departments
• Hospital Infection Control
• Correctional Facilities
• Immigrant & Refugee Health
• Community Health Centers
• College or University Health Services
• Long Term Care Facilities

Upon completion of this workshop, participants should be better able to

• Recognize the latest advances for assessing risk, testing and treating TB infection to prevent development of disease.
• Integrate current recommendations for the prevention and maImplement recommendations for prompt diagnosis, appropriate treatment and effective management of tuberculosis disease.
• Integrate current recommendations for the prevention and management of tuberculosis in special populations.
• Develop strategies for implementing individualized case management of a patient with TB.
